Sometimes, when you sign up for a wordpress site, if you use the standard method to confirm an email address, you may experience the following error: Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.
This error occurs when you use a (generally uncommon) mail provider that does not use a software to handle the link. Right-click on the link you received during the password reset operation and choose “Copy Link” and then “Paste” the link on the browser.
Although wordpress is now without doubt the most popular cms in the world, it has such a rapid evolution that many times it is impossible to keep it behind. In fact, mail providers often offer proven solutions that, although dated, also offer good user experience and all the necessary security.
So you do not have to think that this error is the result of a bad management of your provider but I think it’s still useful to report it sometimes. I imagine that the provider, compatible with your service vision, wants to update and keep up.
It’s still possible for webmasters to remedy this with a simple plugin. However, I do not recommend adding too many wordpress plugins because any single more element surely slows down the system’s operation and may be of no concern to you.
